Rose Seed Mylk
I love making alternative mylks. It is way more economical to make your own, especially if you drink it often. It doesn’t keep as long in the fridge as the store bought kinds but making small batches at home means you have fresh mylk anytime you want and you can spruce it up any way you like! I have experimented quite a bit with nuts and oats but have found that using Tahina allows me to skip the last step of having to strain the nut or oat meal from the liquid. It is easy to make and very delicious! My son loves it! This recipe can be changed with whatever you have in the pantry really, as long as you have roughly 1/2 cup of nuts/seeds and 5 cups of water.
1/4 cup of Tahina (or Tahini)
1/8 cup of sunflower seeds (*optional)
2 dates (pitted)
3 tbsp of dried rose petals
1 tbsp of ground cinnamon (or 1 tsp of ground cardamom)
5 cups of water
1/2 tsp of Himalayan salt
*Sprinkle with ground dried rose petals when serving
Place all ingredients in blender and blend on high for 2-3 minutes. Serve immediately and refrigerate the rest. I like to make this recipe the day I am actually going to use it. The rest fits perfectly into a large (quart) mason jar.
